Volunteering at Banner Alzheimer's Institute
Banner Alzheimer's Institute (BAI) is committed to letting the world know that hope and help are available now for those touched by Alzheimer's disease. However, doing so requires the generosity, commitment and compassion of those willing to give their time and talent to make a difference. At BAI, we are fortunate to have the faithful support of volunteers who recognize and embrace the many benefits of giving back.
Our volunteers work directly with patients and families, as well as provide much needed support behind the scenes. We strive to match the roles and responsibilities of each volunteer with his or her personal interests and abilities. Volunteers are asked to commit to a minimum of 100 hours of service (approximately four hours per week) within a six-month period. Morning and afternoon shifts are available.
Those interested in volunteering at BAI are required to complete an application, interview and background check, as well as take part in a free health screening, including a two-step TB skin test. This process, which helps ensure the health and safety of our patients and volunteers, may take up to three weeks to complete.
