Professional highlights

Dr. Tariot has investigated and lectured extensively on multiple aspects of diagnosis, therapy and prevention of Alzheimer’s disease and has published more than 250 papers on these topics. He has served as an author for several studies that have led to Food & Drug Administration (FDA) approval of treatments for Alzheimer’s disease. Dr. Tariot has led efforts to refine how behavioral changes in dementia are measured. He has contributed to large multicenter trials of a range of treatments for these neuropsychiatric features. 

Along with colleagues Jessica Langbaum, PhD, and Eric Reiman, MD, Dr. Tariot leads the Alzheimer’s Prevention Initiative, which is credited with helping launch a new era in Alzheimer’s prevention research. Dr. Tariot also leads the Banner Dementia Care Initiative, a program designed to demonstrate the clinical and cost-effectiveness of standardized care for persons with dementia in a large health care system. He is a member of the American College of Neuropsychopharmacology.

Professional highlights

For more than 25 years, Dr. Burke was associated with the University of Nebraska Medical Center, where he served as the Anna O. Stake Professor of Psychiatry, the Vice-Chair for Research and Director of the Psychopharmacology Research Center.

His research focuses on the evaluation of potential new treatments for Alzheimer’s disease, delirium and depression with a particular interest in disease prevention. He has published more than 200 scientific articles, book chapters and abstracts.

Dr. Burke has been repeatedly cited as a Castle Connolly/U.S. News “Top Doctor” and in “Best Doctors in America.”

Professional highlights

With more than 15 years of practice and research experience, Dr. Riggs provides consultations and evaluations, including laboratory tests, brain imaging and other related tests, for patients with cognitive concerns. He is also involved in clinical research trials. Dr. Riggs has previously served as staff neurologist in the Brain & Spine Tumor Program at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Orlando and as Associate Professor of Neurology and Medical Education at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine. He is a consultant for the National Board of Medical Examiners.
