Volunteering at Banner Alzheimer’s Institute and Banner Sun Health Research Institute

Banner Alzheimer’s Institute and Banner Sun Health Research Institute its message of hope and help resonates with many, including people who embrace it by becoming actively involved as volunteers. Our volunteers are interesting, energetic and compassionate people. To them, volunteering at Banner Alzheimer’s is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to make a difference and, at the same time, experience, learn and share.

Our volunteers achieve this is a variety of ways. Some work directly with people with Alzheimer’s disease/dementia and their families. Other volunteers contribute by providing essential behind-the-scene support. We strive to match the roles and responsibilities of our volunteers to their interests and talents. No matter how they engage, Banner Alzheimer’s volunteers are united by an experience that is incredibly rewarding.

Interested in exploring the Banner Alzheimer’s Institute volunteer experience? Here are the steps:

Commit to service

We ask that our volunteers commit to a minimum of 100 hours of service (approximately four hours a week) within a six-month period. Morning and afternoon shifts are available.

Complete the application process

Help us get to know you by completing a volunteer application and participating in an interview. All volunteers also are required to take part in a background check. Email to learn more about this application and screening process.

Participate in a free health screening

This includes a two-step TB test that helps ensure the health and safety of the people for whom we care and our volunteers. This test may take up to three weeks to complete.
